Pre-Requisite: None

Course Description: This 4 hour course is a non-shooting course that teaches students the basic knowledge, skills, and explains the necessary attitude for safe handling, storage of firearms and ammunition in the home. The course will also familiarize participants with safe firearm handling procedures and guidelines for storing pistols, rifles and shotguns in the home. This course is taught using visual aid supported classroom instruction.

Lesson 1: Rules for Safe Gun Handling

Lesson 2: Primary Causes of Firearm Accidents

Lesson 3: Firearm Nomenclature

Lesson 4: Ammunition Types & Uses

Lesson 5: Cleaning & Care of Firearms

Lesson 6: Storing Firearms & Ammunition

Upon completion of this safety course, the student will possess the fundamental and necessary knowledge to safely handle & store firearms and ammunition.

Requirements:

• Notepad and Pen
• Lose-fitting (preferably "tactical") Clothing
• Closed-toe (preferably "tactical") Foot-wear
• Baseball/Operator Type Hat
• Heavy (gun/operator/tactical/riggers) Belt
• Willingness to Participate in Selected "Immediate Action Drills"
